Artist's Comments

Learn to Fly found inspiration from the photographic studies of Eadweard Muybridge’s “animal locomotion.” My sculpture captures moments in time that may seem to be overlooked or simply not capable of being witnessed by the naked eye. Starting with the base of the structure, Learn to Fly is meant to portray a release of energy, continuing through a number of alterations, which convey different angles, directions and size. The final destination is the smaller element, which is unattached to the main composition, inviting the viewer inside the space framed by both elements.
